Zarya knows that not all Omnics are against humanity, but she also believes that it would only take a little bit of clever reprogramming to change all of that.something she cannot stand and sees as a threat. Her resentment towards Omnics sometimes puts her at odds with those who make the distinction that not all Omnics are bad. When she sets her mind to a goal she never quits until it is accomplished. In her personal life Zarya is gruff and often stubborn, but those who know her better have seen that she is also fiercely loyal and determined. All of those heroes benefit a lot from the fact that the enemies are grouped up. There are many examples, such as Tracer, Genji, Hanzo, Reaper, and more. Thanks to her ultimate, Zarya Overwatch can work with any hero that has an AoE damage-dealing ults. Zarya is a fierce and powerful combatant in battle and she harbors a deep resentment toward all Omnics, even those allied with humans. Zarya is notorious for offering some of the best combos in Overwatch. Unfortunately a dormant omnium near her hometown suddenly awoke and attacked, Zarya withdrew from the competition immediately and rushed back to her home to join the defense, forgoing her chance at fame and glory to instead serve her country in battle.

She rose through the ranks quickly and became the rising star for future national and world titles in weightlifting. To that end Zarya focused on her physique, training relentlessly and becoming a world class weightlifter. As a child of a war ravaged nation she grew up in a region devastated by conflict and at an early age she vowed to become stronger so that she could help her people rebuild and protect themselves from future threats. Zarya was born during the days of the Omnic Crisis in a small village in Siberia near the front lines of that Crisis there. Zarya is a tank type hero with abilities that focus on strong barriers that absorb damage and use it to enhance her own attacks. Playable character from the first person action shooter Overwatch created by Blizzard Entertainment. This would make her the world record holder by far, having roughly 230 on her Snatch record and 282 on her Clean & Jerk (since the ratio for every record is roughly 45/55), surpassing every current world record for the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk, currently at 214 kg and 266 kg respectively.Base of Operations: Krasnoyarsk Front, Russia Now, let's compare Zarya's weightlifting record, 512 kilos (1130 lbs). with her Snatch at 155 kg and her Clean & Jerk at 193 kg. The current world record-holder for women's weightlifting is Tatiana Kashirina from Russia in 2012 at a total of 348.0 kilograms, or a little over 767 lbs. "Clean and Jerk" is when the athlete grabs the barbell, brings the barbell up to their upper chest while crouching, stands up, and then proceeds to bring it above their head ( as seen here) "Snatch" is when the athlete takes the barbell, throws it behind their back while in a crouching position, and proceeds to stand up and lift it above their head ( as seen here).

Now, that might not mean much if you're not familiar with Olympic Weightlifting.įirst off, the "total" in professional weightlifting is calculated as: Snatch + Clean & Jerk, which are the two weightlifting techniques performed at the olympics.

After a simple google search, I found out that number is simply her record for weightlifting, since (in her lore) she's a world-renowned professional weightlifter. Zaryafull name Aleksandra Zaryanovawas a Russian soldier prior to joining Overwatch, and regardless of original intent, the presence of that 'Z' on her uniform is incredibly inappropriate now. I've been playing a decent amount of Zarya recently, and didn't really notice her tattoo on her left arm until recently.Īs you can see from the image, she has a large tattoo across her upper left arm/shoulder simply depicting the number "512".
